PADDLING FORWARD TOGETHER

A FREE opportunity for Northwoods area charitable and/or youth-serving organizations to help the Howard Young Foundation roar back against cancer while raising awareness of, and funds for, their group through participation in the Minocqua Dragon Boat Festival.

Several of our generous sponsors are making the team boats they received with their sponsorship available to Northwoods community charitable and youth-serving organizations. There are 10 boats available (one boat per applying organization).

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

Northwoods area school, charitable, and/or youth-serving groups and organizations. Groups must be able to verify nonprofit or school status, and may be required to provide a letter confirming 501c3 status. Accepted teams will be competing in the Community Team division of the races and dragon boat club teams are not eligible to participate.

HOW ARE FUNDS RAISED?

Team members raise funds through a provided link to our Paddler’s Pledge Page they can share with their friends and family. Your team will receive 50% of the funds your team raises! Your team will also enjoy the satisfaction of helping create new Oncology Chemotherapy Infusion services at Howard Young Medical Center. It’s a win-win! 21 paddlers each raise $250 in pledges = $5,250. Your group would receive $2,625

Your boat registration ($900) is waived because you are using a sponsor’s boat.

You may gather pledges before and at the event.

Selling of any additional goods, services, or tickets is prohibited.

Each group will also have a 10’ x 10’ area to set up a team tent (you provide if wanted) to serve as a gathering space and place to showcase your organization. Teams decorate with themes and attendees can visit the tents.

ALL TEAMS WILL BE NOTIFIED OF THEIR ACCEPTANCE STATUS ON OR BEOFRE AUGUST 1, 2023
