This team is built from generations of friends paddling in honor and memory of Dr. George Anast. A pioneer of modern emergency medicine and world-renowned orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Anast was influential in developing healthcare in the Northwoods and beyond. We are so thankful he shared his talents with us as part of the photography team with Geri Miller.
Formerly strangers, we are now a group of friends and neighbors from all walks of life who found one another through the good fortune of falling in love with the beautiful Northwoods. We need no help in finding a reason to gather together to have fun or to support a good cause, and the Festival gives us reasons for both. What we lack in experience, we make up for in enthusiasm!
Off the edge is an all-women's team from Minnesota. We call White Bear Lake our home. We have a wide range of ages and professions, but all come together in our common love of paddling! we are happy to participate in your festival again!
