Island City Dragon Boat Club Nonprofit Purpose: The Island City Dragon Boat Club, Inc. is dedicated to teaching and training adult and youth athletes from the greater Minocqua area and surrounding counties in the sport of dragon boat paddling and dragon boat racing.
The future of dragon boating is bright with this youth team in the Lakeland area. With help from the Island City Dragon Boat Club, this young group of dragons was “hatched” in 2022. This mixed youth program is based in Minocqua, Wisconsin, and is coached by Mike Mondrall. This team is excited to roar with the dragons.
ViewThe Aspirus Water Dragons includes Aspirus Health employees and their families from across our system. We’re beginners and we plan to showcase how a group of individuals from north central Wisconsin can come together for a terrific cause.

Our programs are geared to all levels of fitness and we welcome women of all ages with all types of cancer. TEAMSurvivor Madison’s programs and activities offer opportunities for women to reclaim their fitness, gain a sense of accomplishment, build a social support system and achieve renewed comfort with their bodies and their health.

Since our beginnings in 2019, we have attended numerous festivals and have walked away with many medals and even more memories.

For over a decade, these two teams have battled fiercely on the water, while sharing the strongest of friendships off it. ViewThe Dragon Divas of Minnesota founded in 2006 emphasize the benefits of exercise in living longer and thriving following a diagnosis of breast cancer and demonstrate how to live a life without limits following the diagnosis. We promote awareness in the wider community about the importance of early detection and the benefits of an active lifestyle in fighting this disease. We are dedicated to helping survivors attain their personal wellbeing in body and spirit. We support and encourage each other’s journey through mentorship and our unique camaraderie. We honor those who have gone before us for what they have taught us about living with and dying from this disease, and what their journey has taught our physicians and researchers about curing this disease. We empower survivors to thrive as the strongest and most courageous versions of themselves in the boat and in their communities.

ViewThe LaCrosse Mississippi Sisters is a composite team from LaCrosse and Madison. We have each heard the words "you have cancer" and journeyed down different paths. We have come together through dragon boat, where we survive and thrive and support one another.

ViewOff the Edge is a competative all women dragon boat team paddling together since 2012. We claim White Bear Lake as our home, but paddlers come from all over the Twin Cities metro area in Minnesota. We channel our White Bear energy into all our competitions!
ViewThe Flying Ears is a club team from DeKalb County, Illinois. We have been racing since 2013 and 2023 will be our 5th year racing in Minocqua. We race in honor of our team founder, Mary Beth McGill, who started our team back in 2009. The team changed the name from The Flying Ears to Paddlin’ for MB when Mary Beth was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2011. She lost her battle to this terrible disease in December of 2012, but not until she saw her namesake team win its first championship in St Charles, IL in June 2012. By 2013 the club had grown in membership to the point where a second team was created, and the team name The Flying Ears was resurrected. By 2019 The Flying Ears won 4 Gold and 2 Silver. We race today in honor and memory of Mary Beth. We wear our team motto, “No One Fights Alone’ on our shirts honoring those who may be fighting a disease or other personal issues and saying, You Are Not Alone in your struggle.

ViewPink Paddling Power is a breast cancer survivor team from Racine that was started in 2006. We have raced in the US, Canada, Hong Kong and Italy. We are part of the Racine Dragon Boat Club and are involved in many community events and promote survivorship through dragon boating.
